About Us
Stephora Classical Dance School is led by Sarbani Ghosh, an accomplished Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam and contemporary Indian dance forms. A dedicated disciple of Guru Smt. Anita Mallick, she has trained extensively in the rich traditions of Indian classical dance.
Sarbani has choreographed and performed at numerous prestigious dance festivals in India and abroad, including the International Dance Festival in Bhubaneswar and Banga Sammelan (North American Bengali Conference – NABC) in Las Vegas.
Now based in Morrisville, North Carolina, she brings this rich artistic heritage to the Triangle community, nurturing each student through the traditional Guru–Shishya Parampara with discipline, grace, creativity, and joy.

Our Classes
Structured training for all ages and levels — from a student’s very first mudra to the confidence of the stage.
One of India’s oldest classical dance forms, born in the temples of Tamil Nadu and grounded in the Natya Shastra. Students learn adavus (steps), mudras (gestures), abhinaya (expression) and repertoire — building strength, rhythm and artistry, step by graceful step.
Composition and stagecraft for recitals, showcases and special programs. Dancers explore rhythm, formations, expression and creative movement to bring stories to life and shine under the lights.
